My Project
S\o i was thinking of doing an ad for perfume and cologne. I wanted to show how different they look in magazines. This means a cologne ad in a magazine that is read predominately by males and a perfume ad that is read mainly by women. It should be fun. Here is my process:
Step 1: come up with an idea
First thing i though of was gender. Then the rest simply came into place.
Step 2: Reasearch
I began to look at ads.

And that's as far as i have gotten on the project more to come :)

Light In the Distance?
So usually I have a hard time dealing with bad news or just dealing with a bad day at school, but this year it has been out of control. I am so done. It seems like every time I start getting over one thing I get five more problems. People always say its going to be better all I want to to is WHEN! I have come to a conclusion, all there little motivational quotes where made up to make people more upset. Like really my grandma passed away but no worries it will be better over time, is she gonna come back from the dead? Or when I am doing bad in school and people say well if you work really hard you will have a good out come and all that stress will make the outcome so much better, what if you could just work really hard and not have to stress out to the point where you cant get any sleep. Hard work doesn't always pay off. Why cant people be real? what happened to honesty?
Personally this year has had so many down moments. My senior year was boring as hell and all I looked forward to was getting the hell out of that disgusting school. I remember sitting in class and all I could pay attention to was some freshmen talking about her intimate life of how her baby's daddy cheated on her with her best friend like who cares! To top it all off I had the hardest English class in the world. It wasn't that the work was hard, the teacher thought she was God or something because if we didn't think the theme of the books we read was what she thought we got marked down. Hello had she ever heard that people have opinions that may be right. Its not like she knew what the intended themes where she just guessed from reading it! It sucked because if I didn't pass her class I would be unable to graduate. Luckily I passes the first half of her class with an A so that when I failed the second half I stilled passed the course.
Then in May when school was almost done my grandma passed away, it was really depressing but since I had never had to deal with death that close to me it was more uncomfortable than sad. What did make me feel sad was the devastation in my dad's face he was so torn apart. I didn't know how to deal with that so I kept it in. Then again this week my moms mother died and I was really close to her so I i feel pretty devastated when I found out, and not to mention seeing how devastated my mom is because she didn't get to say her goodbyes.
It has been really hard for me because I don't know how to deal with my frustrations and I have been holding on to everything and it makes me mad when people tell me things like it will get better, but how do they know? because it looks like it has been getting worse. Also what can I do about school if I am really trying and I am not getting any results. I would rather hear things like to bad, maybe next time. Or maybe things like, well that class was hard anyway, and even get you shit together and stop complaining. I hope all the better days come soon because I really need them.

Peer Editing in Class
I have never thought that peer editing in class has ever effectively worked for me. The way we edited our papers did nor really help me either, I mean I always read my papers out loud and if I wanted to have somebody read my paper for me then I would. It was even less effective because if you have somebody that you don't know try to critique your work than they wont know how honest to be and that wont be of much help either. Peer editing is even less effective when you have someone try to expand on pieces you wrote such as: auto-biographies, memoirs, short stories and other personal works because unless someone has known you on a personal level then they cannot help correct your memories or thoughts. The only way that I think where it could benefit me is having someone catch a grammatical mistake that I didn't see.

"Graduation" Reading Analysis
Critical Thinking Question 4:
I choose the part in the story where Angelou the author when she writes about the white man's (Mr. Edward Donleavy) speech. He tore her down after she felt so proud of what she had achieved. I liked how the author wrote the whole story in a short summary with out giving to much away. I liked this because it got you interested on knowing what happened with further detail. She used a lot foreshadowing by just doping simple hints on the stories content. An example of this was when she wrote, "Oh, it was important, all right. Whitefolks would attend the ceremony" and later she explained why that was so important to mention. Writing my own graduation story would be similar to Angelou's in the way that i would use foreshadowing like she did because as a reader it helped me understand the story before it was even told. I would write my story also with a good climax like in this story when she heard her fellow classmates speech. I did not see that coming and as a reader i am glad that I didn't. My graduation story would have to be about my elementary graduation because i remember that one the most. I could use a lot of detail like a good narrative is supposed to have. I remember what i was wearing and i even remember even getting my dress and shoes. Even thought it was the least significant graduation of my like to me it was special and I remember every detail and i believe that is what a good narrative is comprised of, lots of detail. In Angelou's story we didn't really need to know every single detail to obtain the point or significance of the story but as reader it helped picture the story and the setting which makes a story better to ready because it causes one to feel as if you are there with them in the story.
